What is Net Team?

I love giving my time to young people who want to grow personally, serve the church passionately and impact the world powerfully.
The Net Team is all about developing people and extending God’s Kingdom. It’s always been great to see the incredible things God has done in people and through people over the year.
We want it to be a year of discipleship, in which people are stretched, encouraged and challenged. We want it to be a year of fruitfulness, in which they discover and use their gifts to impact others.
Andy Barclay-Watt, SMCF Senior Leader
Where? We hope to have a Net Team in each of these locations:
Manchester – South Manchester Christian Fellowship North Wales – Caernarfon Pentecostal Church ; Hope Church, Bangor Bury – Bury Christian Fellowship Teesside – Tees Valley Community Church
The year:
Training for Maturity Our goal for the Net Teamer is to provide a year of opportunity for significant growth in maturity. To facilitate this we will be creating lots of opportunities for teaching, training, discipleship and accountability.
Training days These will be held twice a month, primarily at SMCF. A large range of topics will be discovered that are designed to broaden the Net Teamer’s biblical knowledge and challenge their application of it.
Topics include:-
Old Testament Survey Personal Growth New Testament Survey Faithfulness & Perseverance Father's Heart for the Lost Life of Job Stewardship Life of Joseph Church Team Work Discipleship Church Planting Pastoral Care Moving in the Supernatural Prayer & Fasting Parables Formation of Character Personal Devotion Growing in the Prophetic
Assignments will be given to help get the maximum out of these times.
Bible College The Net Teamer will attend 3 study breaks at King’s Bible College & Training Centre (KBCTC) in Oxford . This is an opportunity to study 3 different topics at a greater depth and experience Bible College life.
Personal Discipleship The Net Teamer will be expected to join in a discipleship group in their host church. This will create an opportunity to get to know people in the church in a deep, life-changing way.
Accountability Accountability is an important part of the Net Team year. Character and integrity are the foundation in any ministry for God. One of the best ways for this to happen is by letting those with more maturity sharpen and shape us. We are looking for people who will enthusiastically embrace this.
Training for Ministry The Net Team year will provide many different and varied opportunities to serve the church. Being involved in an assortment of activities will, we hope, clarify where the Net Teamer’s giftings and passions lie. We want to help identify, encourage and develop them. The Net Teamer will be overseen by local leaaders who will give input into these areas.
A few areas of possible servant ministry are: Youth, Children, Students, Homeless, Prisons, Women’s ministry. These obviously vary from church to church.

Training for Multiplication As part of the year, we are looking to take new ground and equip the Net Teamers to reach and disciple others in new situations. As a team, in their local situation, they will be given a pioneering project to set up and establish. The projects will vary according to local need and the makeup of the team.
The purpose of this is to generate an opportunity to push into a new area, using the combined gifting (old and newly found) of each team member to make a difference in the area, whilst developing each person’s ability to work as a team, encourage and release others and resolve conflict and tension. Out of this the team will see the Kingdom of God advance through them.
We know that this will will stretch the team’s faith and also be hugely rewarding as amazing things happen in God’s name.
Mission Trip Included in the year is a short-term mission trip overseas, providing new and challenging situations in which to serve and glorify God outside of a familiar culture.

The Net Teamers, whilst being accompanied by experienced leaders, will be expected to use their initiative, gifting and time to step above and beyond their comfort zones into a willingness that God can freely use to impact others.
Cost Board and lodgings will be provided by a host family in the church. As a contribution towards the costs of the year, we would like each Net Teamer to raise £1000. The money will go towards the cost of all the training, all Net Team expenses including travel, and the overseas trip. The only other expense will be the Net Teamer’s own personal spending money.
