Prayer on Sundays for those in the workplace

Those of you were with us on Sunday 25th March will have heard the interviews with a GP and a physiotherapist, and the prayer that followed for all those working in healthcare or training in that area.

The intention is to focus on different groups of workers every couple of month or so. The next two will be:

20th May: Workers in various service areas, eg estate agents, retail, meter-readers, the fire service, gardeners, fitness instructors, librarians, newspaper vendors, etc.

8th July: Workers in various creative areas: artists, photographers, musicians, cake-making, the media, video, entertainers, actors, etc.

To follow, on dates tbc:

  • Business/commerce/industry: management, finance, admin, clerical, other office-based...
  • Education: teaching, lecturing, dinner ladies, music-teaching, education support roles…
  • Technical professions: engineers of all sorts, plumbers, technicians, mechanics, electricians, architects, IT, scientists….
  • (Non medical) Caring professions: Social work, counselling, work with offenders, youth workers, housing….

Please pray for those working in charities. There is a lot more pressure these days for charities to change the way they work - delivering services etc. There is less money available in grants, especially as more is currently going into sport in the run up to the Olympics. And charity managers are particularly under pressure - it is a very lonely job.
